Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory, demyelinating disease of  the central nervous system. Continual deposition of sclerotic plaques  leads to progressive physical disability. Etiologic agents, exacerbating  or remitting agents, and curative modalities have not been firmly  established. The T2 MRI shown demonstrates numerous areas of increased  signal indicating extensive disease.
